Creators, Copyright and Collections

What does creation look like in the digital era? Who are the creators? How do we interact with our cultural heritage? What roles do museums and collections have to play in the conversation? Is current intellectual property law a help or a hindrance?
 
Be intrigued, provoked, challenged and inspired as a range of experts share their thoughts, experiences and visions.
 
Speakers include: Tom Uglow Creative Director Google; Mike Jones, Writer and Creative Producer, Head of story development Portal Entertainment, UK & Lecturer in Screenwriting, AFTRS, Elliott Bledsoe, Digital Strategist, formerly Creative Commons and Australia Council, Dan Ilic, comedian and creator ABC, Guy Gadney The Project Factory, Jess Scully Festival Director Vivid Ideas + more.
 
There will be two panel discussions, one which will be hosted by Marc Fennell (ABC Radio National) and broadcast for the ‘Download this Show’ program, whilst another features Lynda Kelly, Australian National Maritime Museum, Paula Bray, Powerhouse Museum, Gabby Shaw, Museum of Contemporary Art + more.
 
There is an opportunity to ‘Meet Curators and discuss the Powerhouse Museum collection’ and the launch of the 'Creationistas' project, a cutting edge humorous look at copyright in the digital age and a call to action that will fill out the day’s program.
