eResources Toolkit Introduction

Welcome to the NSW.net eResources Toolkit.

This toolkit aims to assist NSW public libraries to promote and maximise the use of their eResources.

The toolkit is in four sections: eResources Health Check, Access, Promotion and Skills.

It is based on the New Zealand EPIC (eResources Purchasing In Collaboration) eResources Toolkit (http://www.epic.org.nz/) which was developed by Craig Cherrie, EPIC Training Coordinator until 2009.

EPIC is a consortium of libraries that license packages of electronic resources to be used in New Zealand libraries.

Their toolkit is covered by Creative Commons Attribution-Non-commercial (BY-NC) New Zealand Licence.

In 2013 a group of NSW public library staff worked on adapting the EPIC Toolkit for a NSW public library audience.

They are (in alphabetical order) Shoba Abraham, Ku-ring-gai Library, Linda Albertson, Bega Valley Shire Library, Louise Chapman, Newcastle Regional Library, Sean Finlay, Randwick City Library Service, Ali Hussein, Parramatta City Library Service, Kathy Maltby, Ryde Library Service, Janelle Monnox, Lake Macquarie City Library, Sarah Taylor, Shoalhaven Libraries and Nathan Turner, Parramatta City Library Service.

The NSW.net team, Joyce Azzopardi, Ross Balharrie and Kathleen Alexander also edited and contributed to the Toolkit.

We would like to thank EPIC for allowing us to adapt their toolkit and make this available to NSW public libraries.
