Promoting indyreads

indyreads complements your library collections, giving your community access to a broader range of titles.

You can let your community know about indyreads in a variety of ways including displaying promotional material, ensuring information is available on your website, posting on social media, using indyreads in book clubs, and creating book lists.

Promotional material

The easiest way to promote indyreads is to display promotional material in all your library locations. All promotional material provided to you free of charge.

You can order order bookmarks, postcards or a pull-up banner using the order form.

Display these in your library, share them with your community partners and take them with you when you are doing outreach activities.

Digital signage

Use the digital signage on your library's digital screens. Portrait and landscape images are available. There are a variety of options to promote different aspects of indyreads.

Posters

These posters can be printed in A4 or A3 for display in your library if you do not have digital screens. You can also share the 'Get started’ poster with local community organisations.

Canva resources

If your library has a Canva account, you can customise these designs to promote titles on indyreads. Use the Open Sans font if adding text.

Summer Book Club

The indyreads Summer Book Club runs from December to mid-February annually. Use the resources we provide, or create your own, to promote the selected title to your community. At the end of the Book Club, an online author talk is held and we encourage you to promote this to your community. You may also like to host an event and livestream the author talk.

WinterReads

The WinterReads campaign is held in August. Promotional resources are provided in the months leading up to the campaign.

Lists

You can create lists on indyreads as a way of providing readers' advisory to your community, including Staff Picks, recommended reading and more.

Create a Staff Picks list for your library and contact us so we can add it to the indyreads Staff Picks carousel. You can also embed the URL for lists you create in your communication channels such as newsletters, social media and your library website.

Newsletters

Promote indyreads in your library and council newsletters by including messaging and graphics for indyreads. You can also feature titles and write book reviews or embed the URL of lists you create to highlight a collection of titles you wish to promote.
